The Philadelphia Phillies are going to have to make some tough decisions this offseason, as many of their veterans are on expiring deals, and it’s going to be hard to afford them all.
With Kyle Schwarber probably being the one vet the Phillies need to keep, the others may walk. And Fansided's Robert Murray believes All-Star Ranger Suarez is destined to get a big bag this offseason, so the Phillies will let him walk.

“Philadelphia is going to have to make some very difficult decisions in free agency, with players such as Schwarber, JT Realmuto and Suarez among those on expiring contracts. They can’t keep everyone. The guess here is that Schwarber is the priority and at least two of the three players are extended the qualifying offer. That shouldn’t limit Suarez’s market. Not in the slightest. And if the demand for pitching in recent seasons has been any indication, Suarez should have a hot market and land a very, very lucrative contract in free agency,” Murray wrote.
This season, Suarez has a 2.84 ERA with a 12-6 record, along with a WHIP of 1.168 and 145 K’s in 149 innings pitched. A lot of teams would like a dominant lefty such as Suarez, so Murray isn’t wrong when he says Suarez will have a huge market.

This was Suarez’s last year under contract as well, so there’s no option either side can pick up on to keep him in Philly for one more year. If they want to stay together, the two sides will have to figure it out this offseason or Philly sends Suarez a qualifying offer.
Hopefully they do, as Suarez is definitely a gem of the Phillies’ pitching staff.
