Phillies predicted to be top trade candidate for $7.7 million All-Star MVP, would replace Nick Castellanos image

With the rapid decline of Nick Castellanos and the possible exit of Harrison Bader, the Philadelphia Phillies desperately need some outfield help. Luckily, there’s a team in the MLB looking to move a stud outfielder.

Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes the Phillies could be the best fit for Boston Red Sox All-Star outfielder Jarren Duran, as the Red Sox need to solve their outfield logjam, and the Phillies need an outfielder.

“The Phillies need outfield bats in the worst of ways and Jarren Duran has long felt like one of the most logical — and attainable — targets. The Red Sox are looking to ease their logjam in the outfield; Wilyer Abreu has a longer window of control and is a much better defender, which means Boston ought to prioritize dumping Duran. And it goes without saying that Roman Anthony and Ceddanne Rafaela aren't moving,” Kline wrote.

This past season, Duran slashed.256/.332/.442/.774 with 41 doubles, 13 triples, 16 home runs, 84 RBI, and 24 stolen bases in 157 games played. He would be an immediate sparkplug to the Phillies’ offense, making an awesome 1-2-3 with Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in the lineup.

The Red Sox probably won’t want prospects in return, as they are transitioning into a win-now mode with their top prospects graduating. Philly will need to offer some MLB players in order to make it a worthwhile offer; it would also be much easier to make a trade if Boston loses Alex Bregman to free agency.

Hopefully, the Red Sox are ready to move Duran, and the Phillies can make an offer that’s enticing enough to put them at the front of the list.
