The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to be in the mix to bring DH Kyle Schwarber back this offseason. After one of the best seasons of his career, the Phillies will prioritize his return for 2026.

Schwarber has spent the last four seasons in a Phillies uniform and has been superb. He made two All-Star appearances, and smashed 187 home runs in those four seasons, including two 40-homer seasons, and one 50-homer season. In 2025, Schwarber enjoyed perhaps the best season of his 11-year career, blasting 56 home runs and 132 RBIs with an OPS of.928. On Aug. 28, he became the 21st player to hit four home runs in a single game against the Atlanta Braves.

Now a free agent, the Phillies will need a competitive offer to bring Schwarber back. The Athletic’s Jim Bowden remains firm that the Phillies are still a fit for Schwarber’s services.

“In addition to being one of the premier power hitters in the game, Schwarber is highly valued around the league for his clubhouse presence,” Bowden said. “Although the Phillies will make every effort to re-sign him, it will be fascinating to see what offers Schwarber gets on the open market for his special power bat and ability to mentor younger players.”

The Phillies are also expected to be in the mix for superstar free agent Kyle Tucker, which could have an impact on how hard they pursue Schwarber, nonetheless after being a staple in the Phillies’ lineup for the last four seasons, his return will surely be a priority this offseason.
