This offseason, the Philadelphia Phillies have signed Kyle Schwarber to a $150 million extension, signed Brad Keller to a $22 million deal, and signed Adolis Garcia to a $10 million deal.
These moves have been great, but the Phillies fan base is hoping for more. And evidently, so too are the Phillies players based on their recruitment attempts with Bo Bichette.
According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, some Phillies players have employed an interesting recruitment plan to try to convince Bichette to come to Philadelphia. The plan involved texts to the Toronto Blue Jays star while he was celebrating his wedding.
Phillies players texted Bo Bichette about playing in Philly during his wedding
"Phillies players were texting Bichette about the possibility last weekend," Heyman writes, "when Bichette was celebrating his wedding."
Seeing players try to recruit free agents is hardly a surprise, especially in Major League Baseball, when Bryce Harper has already shown a willingness to reach out to free agents about returning or coming to Philadelphia.
But this recruitment, with the Phillies players reaching out to Bichette during his wedding, is one of the more wild ways to try to convince someone to join their team.

While there's no guarantee that those messages have helped the Phillies get closer to bringing in Bichette, a report from Matt Gelb of The Athletic seemingly indicates that the two sides are, at the very least, going to meet with one another.
The rumors between Bichette and the Phillies have picked up lately, and these two reports from Heyman and Gelb indicate that a contract might not be out of the realm of possibility.
Heyman doesn't name the players who apparently reached out to Bichette, but Harper is a decent bet for who might've reached out. Alec Bohm, who would likely be traded if Bichette signs, is the most obvious player to not likely contact Bichette.
