It was looking promising for the Philadelphia Phillies after breaking open Game 1 of the NLDS against Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers after a three-run second inning.
Philadelphia was unable to pick up any more runs and lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers with a final score of 5-3.
Moving forward, the Phillies may have to continue their World Series pursuit without one of their top defenseman moving forward.
Harrison Bader exits Game 1 of NLDS with hamstring strain
After the Phillies gave up a three-run shot to Teoscar Hernandez in the top of the seventh, losing their lead they had ahold of the entire game, right fielder Harrison Bader exited the game.
It's been reported that the injury is a Grade 1 hamstring strain for the 31-year-old, who was acquired by the Phillies at the July trade deadline, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported.
A significant injury like this puts not only Monday night's Game 2 in jeopardy, but also the rest of the postseason for Bader. He left Game 1 after driving in a run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning.
He was replaced by Nick Castellanos in the bottom of the seventh.
Bader has been playing tremendously for Philadelphia since getting traded on July 31. In the 50 games he played in the regular season for the Phillies, he finished with a .305 batting average, .347 on-base percentage, .449 slugging percentage, and a .796 OPS while hitting five home runs and 16 RBI.
