The Philadelphia Phillies had some key representation at the last World Baseball Classic, with Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner helping propel Team USA to the finals.
While Turner hasn't joined the team this year, Schwarber is back. There are a ton of superstars on Team USA's roster this year, and another Phillies player is joining Schwarber on the 2026 roster.
According to an announcement from Bryce Harper on Instagram, the Phillies first baseman is joining Team USA and will take the open first base spot for an incredible roster for the United States.

Phillies' Bryce Harper announces Team USA WBC commitment
"Put the colors on my chest for the 1st time when I was 15." Harper writes. "No other feeling like it. I'm excited to announce I will be representing Team USA this year in the WBC. Merica! #forglory."
Harper's commitment to the Team USA roster makes what's been an exciting string of announcements even more exciting. Harper and Schwarber will be key players for Team USA, as they are the Phillies' current lone representatives for Team USA.
Overall, the Team USA lineup and rotation look to be as good as they've ever been. Cal Raleigh and Will Smith will man the catcher position, while Harper, Brice Turang, Gunnar Henderson and Bobby Witt Jr. Make up the infield.

Schwarber is the DH, and in the outfield are Aaron Judge, Corbin Carroll and Pete Crow-Armstrong. It's an incredible roster of players, and should have plenty of promise this upcoming WBC.
With Paul Skenes, Tarik Skubal, Logan Webb, Joe Ryan and Mason Miller as part of the pitching staff, among many others, this year is looking to be a promising one for Team USA.
Harper's inclusion helps round out the starting lineup for Team USA. He's projected to start at first base for Team USA, and with a star-studded lineup, he might be hitting in the second half rather than at the top like he normally does for the Phillies.
It's an exciting time to cheer for Team USA, as the roster was already looking to be as good as it's ever been. Harper's addition only makes it better, as the roster has everything it needs to win the World Baseball Classic this year.
