Team USA's pitching staff is taking shape for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Players already committed include Tarik Skubal, Paul Skenes, Joe Ryan, and Logan Webb. And that's without mentioning a bullpen that will feature formidable arms like Mason Miller, David Bednar, and Griffin Jax.
Manager Mark DeRosa's club added another reliever on Friday. Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Brad Keller will pitch for the United States in the 20-team international tournament, USA Baseball announced on X.
Keller signed a two-year, $22 million contract with the Phillies after a fantastic 2025 season with the Chicago Cubs, posting a career low 2.07 ERA while averaging 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings.
Keller joins forces with Schwarber and Harper
Keller is the third Phillies player to commit to Team USA for the WBC this winter. Designated hitter Kyle Schwarber will play in the tournament for a second time after representing the Phillies with Trea Turner and J.T. Realmuto in 2023.
First baseman Bryce Harper missed the 2023 WBC due to Tommy John Surgery, but will participate this coming March.
Schwarber and Harper may be pleased to know they won't have to step into the batter's box against their teammates and the Phillies closer, Jhoan Duran. The flamethrower turned down an invitation from the Dominican Republic.
