The Los Angeles Dodgers turned to Shohei Ohtani as their starter in Game 7 of the World Series, but his time on the mound now feels like a distant memory.
Long after a rocky outing for the three-time MVP ended with a three-run home run by Bo Bichette, the Dodgers clawed their way back and won their second consecutive championship. Ohtani, who had two hits in the win but did not hit one of the home runs that tied and won the game, is now a two-time World Series champion.
Despite the up-and-down night for Ohtani, his dominant start to the World Series nearly earned him MVP honors. By the time fellow countryman Yoshinobu Yamamoto closed out a win in Game 7 just one day after starting Game 6, though, it was clear that Ohtani was not headed for his first World Series MVP award.

Ohtani pitching tonight?
Ohtani is expected to make his fourth career postseason start as the Dodgers' "opener" in Game 7 of the World Series after Tyler Glasnow was forced into Game 6 to close out the Blue Jays' rally.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was non-committal about how long Ohtani will pitch tonight, adding "it could be two innings or it could be four innings."
