Mookie Betts controversy: Why Dodgers star is in hot water over antisemitic comment on Adin Ross live stream image

Los Angeles athletes continue to get into controversial situations on Adin Ross' live stream.

A day after Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua made an appearance on the show that led to him doing an antisemitic trope, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts appeared to make a similar mistake.

Betts live streamed with Ross for over two hours, and at one point made a comment toward Ross that referred to an antisemitic stereotype. Betts is very comfortable in the digital media space, as evidenced by the fact that he has his own podcast, which is probably why he agreed to appear on the show in the first place.

Here is a breakdown of the trouble Betts is facing.

What did Mookie Betts do?

While appearing on a Kick live stream with internet personalities Adin Ross and N3on, Mookie Betts told Ross that he was hairy. However, in doing so, Betts made the comment while referencing a stereotype that "Jewish people typically are" hairy.

Ross told Betts that he is both Jewish and Italian, but Betts specifically mentioned Ross' Jewish heritage.

This comes during the same week that Puka Nacua was criticized for his own appearance on Ross' livestream, which included him attacking the NFL refs and making an antisemitic reference of his own.

Betts was the latest celebrity to appear on an Adin Ross live stream, as he joined Ross and N3on on Wednesday night. The full live streamed featured Betts hanging out with Ross and company and playing various sports, including at the batting cages.

Here's a YouTube link to Betts' appearance on the show, which lasted around 2.5 hours.

Who is Adin Ross?
