Trevor Bauer went to Japan to try and preserve his baseball career.

Things aren't going particularly well for the former Dodgers pitcher.

Bauer has the worst qualifying ERA in the low-scoring league at 4.06. His won-loss record is 4-7. He was going semi-viral on social media this week for allowing a home run that looked like it might never land.

The 34-year old right-hander is in Japan following his suspension for violating MLB's domestic violence and sexual assault policy. The suspension was initially for 324 games, and reduced to 194 games by an arbitrator.

The Dodgers officially released Bauer in January 2023.

Bauer pitched for the Yokohama BayStars in 2023, then went to the Mexican League in 2024, where he won Pitcher of the Year honors.

The right-hander returned to Yokohama for this season.

Bauer has had some strong outings, still capable of getting strikeouts, but has also gotten hit hard on a number of occasions.

At this point, it seems any slim chance of him returning to MLB is gone.
