It's been a busy time in Colten Brewer's life.
The right-handed pitcher was away from the Yankees organization this week as his wife gave birth.
And now, Brewer has chosen to leave the Yankees system all together.
He had a veteran opt-out in his deal, and since New York hadn't called him up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he chose to become a free agent and seek a new opportunity.
It's not yet clear who might sign the 32-year old, but he'll probably seek out the best shot at reaching MLB.
This season at Triple-A, Brewer has a 3.94 ERA in 29.2 innings.

Brewer has pitched 120 innings in the major leagues with a 5.10 ERA. That includes time with the Red Sox, Cubs, Padres and Yankees.
He actually was with New York in 2023, left for Chicago for 2024 but came back to the Yankees' organization for this season. But he hadn't been able to get up to the majors yet.
Brewer was a fourth-round pick by the Pirates way back in 2011 out of high school in Texas.
The 6-foot-4, 222-pound righty has a lot of moving parts in his life right now, and the next one will be finding a new ballclub.
