The New York Yankees came into the offseason with a clear goal; do what they could to retain Cody Bellinger. They did just that, as the two sides agreed on a five-year, $162.5 million contract recently.

However, that was not the only move they have made so far this winter. They acquired Ryan Weathers in a trade with the Miami Marlins, acquired Angel Chivilli in a trade with the Colorado Rockies, signed Amed Rosario to a one-year deal, and retained Trent Grisham after he accepted his qualifying offer.

While not a ton of big splashes, the Yankees made some strategic moves to help fill holes. But with Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon not expected to be ready for Opening Day, they could still use another arm.

Gerrit Cole underwent Tommy John surgery last season and won't be ready to go until late May or June. Rodon underwent a procedure to remove loose bodies and shave down a bone spur in his pitching elbow and is not expected to return until late April or early May.

Needing some stability in the rotation, Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller suggests the Yankees could acquire Joe Ryan from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for Will Warren, Spencer Jones, and Bryce Cunningham.

"Should the Twins insist upon Cam Schlittler instead of Will Warren, they'll probably need to throw something else in the deal to get it across the finish line. But for five years of team control on Warren and a pair of coveted prospects, it's probably worth giving up their final two years on Ryan and planning on contending again in 2028."

Minnesota would get quite the return in this package, and the Yankees would get an All-Star starting pitcher. It's quite the haul to give up, but it could make the Bronx Bombers' rotation formidable.
