Yankees' Trent Grisham might be in trouble due to this lucky stat image

Trent Grisham put together the best season of his career in 2025 for the New York Yankees.

Can he do it again? Well, luck would have to be quite on his side for the second campaign in a row.

Grisham was the luckiest hitter in baseball in 2025.

That's deduced by Fielding Runs Value for individual hitters, compiled by Baseball Savant. It essentially assesses what level a defense played against a given guy.

There's one reason to believe in what Grisham did: the power.

Defense doesn't matter when you leave the yard, and Grisham hit a career-high 34 home runs.

Grisham is also valuable by being a strong defender in centerfield, so he's not just going to fall off the table.

But it wouldn't be shocking to see his hitting numbers decline at least a bit. The luck has to shift to some extent, right?

The Yanks are counting on Grisham to keep being who he is, though, and maybe he can keep the good times rolling.
