The MLB Winter Meetings are fast approaching. For those who don't know, this is a four-day gathering where officials from all 30 franchises will be present.

The delegates will discuss various topics, including the current state of the open market, their requirements, and will assess the trade landscape. Numerous transactions are anticipated once the discussions commence on December 8.

The New York Yankees anticipate a very active period in the coming months. They're eager to keep Cody Bellinger, and they also need to acquire several pitchers to strengthen the starting lineup initially and the relief corps.

The Bronx Bombers possess a pitching prospect with significant potential in Carlos Lagrange, though he's still progressing through the minor leagues. He's currently focused on refining a vital third pitch prior to his anticipated call-up.

Despite his considerable potential, he might be considered an excellent focal point for a prospective transaction. Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter holds the view that he is an individual supporters will want to monitor closely throughout the Winter Meetings.

"The Yankees have not been shy about selling high on their top pitching prospects in recent years, and with shortstop George Lombard Jr. Almost certainly untouchable, it makes sense that teams would target one of Lagrange, Elmer Rodriguez, or Bryce Cunningham as the centerpiece in a major trade."

A blend of Lagrange and another pitcher might suffice to acquire Tarik Skubal, provided the Detroit Tigers make him available during the offseason. Alternatively, a more modest deal could land MacKenzie Gore, a top-tier pitcher who could stabilize the rotation until Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon are ready to rejoin the team.
