Bo Bichette missed most of the postseason due to injury but was able to return for the World Series. Despite the time away, he produced at the plate as if he had never left. His performance on baseball’s biggest stage only served to elevate his market value.

“Can confirm Bo Bichette has received interest from multiple teams who view him as a second baseman or third baseman, due to the presence of an established shortstop on those rosters. Further evidence that the World Series augmented his value in the marketplace,” MLB insider Jon Morosi posted.

After his showing in the World Series, Bichette is now in line for a massive contract when he hits free agency. He has enjoyed an impressive year overall, and there is little reason to believe he won’t continue on this upward trajectory.

“The key question facing Bichette's free agency is how teams will view him positionally. If a club is willing to stomach his shortstop defense, then the comparison to Willy Adames' agreement with the Giants (seven years, $182 million) is a good reference point. I'm going to assume that will be the case, at least in the short term. I'll add in some extra coin because of Bichette's age advantage and inflation. Seven years, $189 million ($27 million AAV),” CBS Sports’ RJ Anderson wrote.

Sportsnaut’s Austin Konenski believes Bichette could ultimately land with the New York Yankees if they decide to trade Jazz Chisholm Jr.

“The New York Yankees are an intriguing option for Bichette. If the Yankees end up trading Jazz Chisholm Jr. To a different team, Bichette could slot into second base moving forward. Chisholm has one year left on his deal, so maybe New York could make it work defensively without trading him, too. Either way, Bichette joining an AL East division rival would be a shocking development,” Konenski wrote.

Bichette signing with the Yankees would send the baseball world into a frenzy. An AL East rival poaching one of the Blue Jays’ top young stars would be a clear statement that no player is safe in free agency.

Bichette’s positional versatility only strengthens his value. With or without Chisholm in the picture, he could fit into multiple roles, and Anthony Volpe’s injury to start the season gives the Yankees yet another reason to explore the move.
