The New York Yankees could look a lot different next season. They are coming off a season where they are at risk of losing multiple players in free agency, some of them being key contributors this past season.
Cody Bellinger is the biggest name they are at risk of losing. He is coming off a season where he played in 152 regular-season games, hitting.272/.334/.480 with 29 home runs and 98 runs batted in.
However, he is not the only outfielder the club could see playing elsewhere in 2026. They are also at risk of losing Trent Grisham, who is coming off a career year in the Bronx and will generate a ton of interest over the winter.
Yankees predicted to get heavily involved with Kyle Tucker if Cody Bellinger leaves
If one or two of these outfielders sign elsewhere, that could put the Yankees in deep water. They will look to sign one or both of these players, but with the season both of them came off, it will not be easy.
Luckily, there is a game-changing outfielder who is looking for a new home for the 2026 season and beyond, and that is Kyle Tucker. The Athletic's Doug Kezirian, with the help of Borgata director of race and sports Thomas Gable, put the Yankees' odds at signing Tucker at +325.
"Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham are both free agents, so if both of them go elsewhere, or even just Bellinger, the Yankees will definitely be in the running for Tucker."
Outside of the Yankees, the Los Angeles Dodgers hold the best odds at +250. The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants round out the top four teams here with odds of +575 and +625, respectively.
Now, none of these odds are something anyone can bet on with a legal sportsbook, but it is fun to view Kyle Tucker's free agency in this fashion.
