New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. Has been dangled in trade talks in recent weeks. Nonetheless, manager Aaron Boone still expects his dynamic second baseman to be in the Bronx come opening day next season.

Boone was asked by The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner about the possibility of Chisholm being traded, and if he anticipates Chisholm to still be around for 2026.

“I do. But again, you never know what’s going to happen as teams are maneuvering their rosters and whatever. I do expect him, but you never know what’s going to happen where teams match up on certain things, but, no, I’m planning on him being right in the middle of the lineup,” Boone said.

Chisholm was traded to the Yankees during the 2024 season, and has immediately become one of their best players, smashing 42 home runs and stealing 49 bases in 176 games with the Yankees. Last season, Chisholm hit 31 home runs and stole 31 bases, and was named to his second-career All-Star appearance.

For now, Chisholm remains a part of the Yankees’ 2026 plans, but things can change fast in an offseason, so only time will tell if the team is truly shopping him around or not.
