The New York Yankees have been busy so far at this trade deadline. With two days remaining, they have already addressed their offensive needs, acquiring Ryan McMahon from the Colorado Rockies and Amed Rosario from the Washington Nationals.
However, the Bronx Bombers likely are not done just yet. They have holes in their pitching staff, especially their bullpen.
The Yankees are expected to add some bullpen help in the coming days. Options will be at a premium.
Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report listed Los Angeles Angels left-hander Reid Detmers as a hidden gem on the market and had the Yankees as a possible fit.
"The bullpen is his home now, and not undeservedly on account of his career 4.99 ERA as a starter. It's also just plain proven to be an effective transition, and even more so than his 3.99 ERA lets on," Rymer wrote.
"The southpaw is also on a two-month binge of untouchability, with 29 appearances since May 20 yielding a 1.24 ERA and 40 strikeouts over 29.0 innings."

Detmers has performed well as a reliever this year. He struggled as a starter in the early portion of his career.
The 25-year-old left-hander still has four years of club control beyond 2025 and is averaging 11.2 strikeouts per nine innings. New York only has one left-hander in its bullpen, that being Tim Hill.
While Hill is a viable option for the Yankees, it would certainly be beneficial for them to add one more option. Detmers brings swing-and-miss capability, and he is still relatively young, so he could be a huge addition to the Yankees bullpen.
The Angels haven't exactly picked a lane just yet. However, Detmers could be one of their top trade chips if they do indeed decide to sell at the trade deadline.
It will be interesting to see if the Yankees decide to make a move for Detmers.
