The New York Yankees are the best offensive team in baseball even after losing one of the game’s best hitters.

The likes of Paul Goldschmidt and Ben Rice have filled in after the team lost Juan Soto to the New York Mets, helping Aaron Judge propel the Yankees to the most home runs, best on-base percentage and best slugging percentage of all Major League Baseball teams so far.

But even with that success, the team wouldn’t say no to an extra boost, particularly as the playoff hunt heats up. That’s why there’s continued attention on Giancarlo Stanton and his latest injury rehab.

Since joining the Yankees ahead of the 2018 season, Stanton has missed significant time with injuries in five different years. But he’s also been one of the sport’s most productive sluggers when he is healthy, and he fueled the Bombers last fall with seven postseason homers.

As he works toward a season debut amid elbow problems, he told reporters on Wednesday that he might be able to return in late May. But he seems to be growing tired of the persistent questions about his health.

“I don’t want to keep talking about this because I’ve done it over and over,” Stanton said, when asked about how much pain he’s feeling, per The Athletic. “If I’m out there, I’m good enough to play. There’s no levels or anything else.”

In Stanton’s defense, it might be challenging to continuously describe his health amid so many trips to the injured list. But, on the other hand, fans are eager to know when he might come back to the lineup and how well he hopes to perform.
