The Gold Glove Award recipients for MLB will be revealed on Sunday. The finalists have been revealed, with many aiming to secure their inaugural career award. 

For those unaware, this is an award that is voted on by managers and coaches. Yet, this is integrated with a sabermetric statistical index to decide the recipients. 

With 10 Gold Gloves to his name, Nolan Arenado presently tops all active players. Regarding pitching, New York Yankees pitcher Max Fried is at the forefront with three.

Last season, Max Fried inked a deal with The Yankees and made a significant impact on the mound, becoming a key player. With Gerrit Cole sidelined for the remainder of the season, he stepped into the role of the team's top pitcher and performed admirably. He started 32 games, compiling a 19-5 record with a 2.86 ERA across 195.1 innings of work. 

He topped all pitchers with 39 assists and maintained a solid.925 fielding percentage. This, along with His American League-best seven pickoffs, ought to position him above Jacob deGrom and Luis Severino, and Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer holds a similar view. 

"Fried got to that number (+10 Defensive Runs Saved) all by himself, though, and he also led AL pitchers with seven pickoffs and all pitchers with 39 assists. He's likely a shoo-in for what would be his fourth Gold Glove."

We must acknowledge deGrom and Severino's performance this season. However, it's unlikely to surpass Fried's level of dominance in 2025.
