Yankees' All-Star reliever gets $6.1 million contract update image

The New York Yankees' quiet offseason has frustrated the fanbase.

There's still plenty of work to be done, but they made one small move for the bullpen on Thursday. Right-handed reliever Camilo Doval and the Yankees agreed to a $6.1 million contract for the 2026 season, avoiding arbitration.

Doval's contract was first reported by Jorge Castillo of ESPN. New York acquired the one-time All-Star from the San Francisco Giants at last year's trade deadline.

Doval made 22 appearances with the Yankees in 2025 and recorded 22 strikeouts while walking 11 in 18.2 innings. Improving his command will be key to a successful upcoming season.

Why Doval could play a major role for the Yankees next season

David Bednar will close games for the Yankees in 2026, with Doval as a likely setup man. Former Yankees Luke Weaver and Devin Williams joined the New York Mets this offseason, and combined to throw 126.2 innings last year.

Who will replace Weaver and Williams?

Fernando Cruz and Jake Bird could get the bulk of those innings, but there are dozens of free agent options for the Yankees to consider.
