Yankees' Aaron Judge gives savage reason for not using new Torpedo bats, then makes team history image

The New York Yankees have made news this weekend for using new bats, called Torpedoes.

Aaron Judge doesn't need one. He hits rockets with his good 'ole reliable stick.

Judge explained to reporters why he isn't taking part in the bat trend after hitting three home runs on Saturday.

Then on Sunday, Judge proved himself right by homering in his first at bat. He's the first Yankees player to homer four times in the team's first three games of a season.

“What I’ve done the past couple of seasons speaks for itself," Judge told MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

Judge led Major League Baseball in 2024 in both average exit velocity (96.2mph) and in percentage of contact ending in a barrel (14.9 percent).

Clearly, his swing is in a groove early on here in 2025.
