The New York Yankees are officially in offseason mode as their 2025 season has come to an end after being eliminated in the MLB playoffs by division rival Toronto.
However, that means it is time for New York to make roster changes that could improve the team heading towards the 2026 season. Rumors are swirling from all angles in terms of the offseason trade market, and the Yankees could be heavily involved.
Yankees' predicted to add Steven Kwan as leadoff hitter in 2026
This is a surprise, but Steven Kwan is starting to gain buzz this offseason as a top trade option.
In a recent piece by Bleacher Report, Steven Kwan is predicted to be the Yankees' leadoff hitter in 2026.
Kwan also isn't the only new face in the New York lineup. Mariners' Josh Naylor is the first base option in the mock lineup by BR. Would the Yankees be willing to trade for Kwan? They should consider it, as he is a two-time All-Star who plays a great defensive outfield and gets on base at a high mark.
The prediction is essentially saying the Yankees will move on from Trent Grisham (or lose him in free agency) and Paul Goldschmidt.
Although most of the core pieces will still likely stay in the Bronx, with the uncertainty of some bullpen pieces and a few guys opting for free agency, it should be an eventful offseason for the Yankees.
