Jazz Chisholm will play in the World Baseball Classic.

The New York Yankees star has joined Team Great Britain for the WBC, which begins in March.

Even more intriguingly, Great Britain is in the same group as the United States.

How can Jazz Chisholm play for Great Britain in WBC?

Chisholm has eligibility because he was born in the Bahamas.

The Bahamas were a British colony, so under the WBC's roster rules, Chisholm has a club to play for.

He could end up teammates with Aroldis Chapman, who has eligibility for Team Great Britain because his grandfather was from Jamaica, another former British colony.

The British Isles certainly aren't an area thought of as a baseball powerhouse.

But the colonial era of Great Britain has set itself up for some serious talent in the WBC in 2026.
