A New York Yankees fan who is interested in shelling out a few million dollars can secure a piece of history.

A Lou Gehrig jersey from the 1937 season is up for auction, and according to TMZ Sports, it's going to sell for between $3 million and $4 million.

The 1937 campaign was Gehrig's last legendary year before ALS began to ravage his body.

That season, Gehrig hit 37 home runs and drove in 159 runs while putting up a.351 batting average.

This uniform top was worn "in several home games throughout the 1937 campaign," according to the SCP Auction house.

It was worn in an Aug. 5 game against the Chicago White Sox in which Gehrig hit two home runs. He also wore it in Game 2 of the 1937 World Series, when Gehrig had a hit and two walks in a Yankees win over the New York Giants.

The auction house also says that Gehrig wore this uniform in the official team photograph and in the photo that eventually became his likeness on the Gehrig plaque in Monument Park.

Gehrig and the Yankees won the World Series to end the 1937 season.

In 1938, his body began to let him down due to the onset of ALS, and Gehrig retired in 1939 before he died in 1941.

The auction is listed as running through 10:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 22. As of Friday morning at 8 a.m., the current top bid was $1 million.
