The offseason is starting to kick off in full swing. Teams have given out their qualifying offers to players they are trying to retain, and other teams are putting together plans to sign free agents and make upgrades.

There are plenty of stars searching for their next contract, like Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Bo Bichette, and Cody Bellinger. There are also plenty of international players to be acquired.

The New York Yankees, like every offseason, are expected to be major players this winter. But with a qualifying offer on the table for Trent Grisham, fans are holding their breath on whether Bellinger will be able to return if Grisham accepts the offer.

Unlike some other teams, the Bronx Bombers do not hesitate to throw big-time money at big-time players. They have deep pockets, and they have let that be known throughout their history.

According to Scott Boras, Bellinger's agent, whether Grisham accepts the offers or not will not impact Bellinger's free agent decision, as reported by USA Today's Bob Nightengale

"I think the Yankees are looking to improve, not subtract. So since Grisham and Bellinger were both on the team in that year...[no]."

Boras believes that the Yankees are trying to secure both of their 2025 star outfielders for the 2026 season, and for good reason.

Bellinger played in 152 regular-season games, hitting.272/.334/.480 with 29 home runs and 98 runs batted in, while Grisham played in 143 regular-season games, hitting a career-high 34 home runs and 74 runs batted in. These two played huge roles for the Yanks in 2025 and took a lot of the pressure off Aaron Judge to be one of the main sources of the offense.
