The New York Yankees lost free agency reliever Devin Williams to the New York Mets this winter, and could lose another, more important free agent this offseason in Cody Bellinger.
He's drawing interest from a lot of teams, including the Mets. While the Yankees didn't have an offer for Williams, and weren't interested, are the Yankees interested in Bellinger?
Bryan Hoch of MLB.com shared Brian Cashman's thoughts on the Yankees' interest in re-signing Bellinger this offseason. Fortunately for Yankees fans, the team's interest is real, and a reunion is very much on the table this offseason.
Yankees' interest in re-signing Cody Bellinger revealed by Brian Cashman
"Cody Bellinger would be a great fit for us," Cashman said. "I think he'd be a great fit for anybody. I think he's a very talented player that can play multiple positions at a high level, and hits lefties hits righties. He's a contact guy, and I think our environment was a great one for him."
Cashman's comments on Bellinger make it clear: the Yankees are interested in a free-agent reunion this offseason. While it won't come cheap, especially due to the lack of top outfielders after Kyle Tucker, it's a deal the Yankees are seriously considering.

The 30-year-old outfielder was great for the Yankees in 2025, hitting.272 with 5.1 bWAR, the highest mark since his 2019 MVP season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He can play elite defense in the outfield and fill in at first base if needed as well. There's going to be plenty of interested teams in Bellinger, so the bidding war could get intense.
But the nine-year MLB veteran is more than worth it, especially if he continues where he left off in 2025 with a strong season offensively and defensively.
He might not draw the same attention or contract as Tucker this winter, but Bellinger is more than worth the big contract he's poised to get this winter. And, unlike with Williams, the Yankees are interested in trying to re-sign Bellinger.
