If it feels like Kyle Tucker's free agency has been tedious, you're not alone.

Not only has it dragged into the middle of January (and could potentially last longer). It also feels like each time something gets reported about Tucker, it's a tiny bit of information.

Only once a lot of reporting happens can you start to piece together what's happening.

OK, so the Toronto Blue Jays were interested. But who else? Oh, a report about the Los Angeles Dodgers. Any other takers? Oh look, the New York Mets.

Then came the reports of money. Some suggested $40 million per year. One said the Mets will pay Tucker $50 million per year on a shorter deal.

But how short a deal?

The New York Post's Mike Puma reported Thursday morning that the Mets have offered a four-year contract.

OK, so now we start to piece it all together. The Mets, potentially, have offered Tucker a four-year deal worth $200 million, at $50 million per year.

Maybe the reality is a little less than that, but that's how the puzzle pieces fit right now.

The Blue Jays will now know what they need to beat. So too will the Dodgers.

The Mets clearly don't mind being aggressive here. Tucker wasn't expected to be worth $50 million per year over a deal of 8-10 years. But for four? The Mets think he's worth that for his prime.

It'd be quite the pairing in the lineup with Juan Soto, one that would give the Mets a potential jolt toward returning to the playoffs.

Now, we wait for more insight. Maybe it'll start coming fast and furious at some point, but it hasn't so far.
