The New York Mets scouted the New York Yankees' minor league system for one of their newest additions.
In the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft on Wednesday, the Mets selected Matt Turner, a lefty pitcher out of the Yankees system.
Turner is a 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher who is 26 years old.
Turner split the 2025 season between Double-A and Triple-A for the Colorado Rockies, combining for a 5.79 ERA. He joined the Yankees when the season ended, and now he's joining the Mets.

Turner has a 4.79 ERA in his minor league career with 8.0 strikeouts per nine innings.
The Mets made three picks in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 Draft.
The first was righty pitcher Justin Armbruester from the Baltimore Orioles.
The next was a lefty pitcher, Aaron Rozek from the Twins.
And then they added Turner.

Players chosen in this portion of proceedings are solely minor league depth picks. They rarely break through to the major leagues.
Turner just shifts from one New York organization to the other.
