Juan Soto is one of the best hitters on the planet.
He's also traveled one of the more unique journeys of an in-his-prime slugger in MLB history. That allowed him to set a record on Saturday for the New York Mets that has never been done before in Major League Baseball.
When Soto's second home run Saturday flew out of the ballpark, it gave him 35 on the season.
And with that 35, he has now hit 35-plus homers in three consecutive seasons while doing it for three different teams.
It's the first time that has ever happened, according to MLB Network's Sarah Langs.
The 26-year old Soto is already on his fourth MLB team.
He hit 35 home runs in 2023 for the San Diego Padres.
In 2024, Soto went deep 41 times for the New York Yankees.
And now it's 35 and counting for the Mets in 2025.
Soto's season-high for home runs in his five-year Nationals tenure was 34 in 2019.
He's up to 236 home runs in his career.
Soto has the best eye in baseball and power to all fields. The Mets gave him a historic contract to be in Queens for the next decade and a half.
And thanks in part to Soto's decision to leave the Yankees for the Mets, he's gotten this chance to set some more MLB history. It probably won't be his last.
