Shohei Ohtani rises to the occasion often.

On Thursday night, Opening Day for the Dodgers state-side, he launched a towering opposite-field home run that turned out to be the game-winning run in a 5-4 victory over the Tigers.

And when the moonshot reached the seats, Dodger Stadium rose as one in celebration.

Two of the most excited folks in the building? Tom Hanks and Rob Lowe.

Hanks could be seen on the ESPN broadcast thinking the ball had a chance and then raising his arm in celebration when it officially left the building.

Lowe has on the face of someone whose mind is blown by the greatness he just witnessed.

They are far from the only two humans to be amazed by Ohtani, maybe the most talented baseball player in the history of the sport.

And look out, because last season, Ohtani didn't hit his first homer until the Dodgers' ninth game and still ended with 54 HRs. This season, he's got two long balls through three games, all L.A. Wins.
