Proposed "nightmare fuel" blockbuster Dodgers trade sees L.A. deal Tyler Glasnow, assets for $300 million two-time Cy Young ace image

The Los Angeles Dodgers are going for broke, as they try to complete the threepeat: three consecutive World Series wins. Now, they’ve put their All-Star No. 5 pitcher, Tyler Glasnow, on the trade block, and it might lead to something nightmarish for the MLB.

Fansided’s Zachary Rotman believes the Dodgers could use Glasnow and many assets to land them the best pitcher in the MLB: Detroit Tigers two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal.

The trade would look like this:

Dodgers get: LHP Tarik Skubal

Tigers get: RHP Tyler Glasnow, RHP Emmet Sheehan, OF Zyhir Hope (LAD No. 2 prospect), INF Alex Freeland (LAD No. 4 prospect)

“If the Dodgers weren't the favorites to acquire Skubal before, they certainly should be seen as favorites now. Not only do the Dodgers have the prospect capital necessary to acquire Skubal, but by making Glasnow available, they can either flip him to a third team to acquire more assets or trade him to the Tigers, giving them an ace with some control in exchange for Skubal,” Rotman wrote.

This past season, Skubal won his second Cy Young in two years, posting a 13-6 record, a 2.21 ERA, 241 Ks, and a WHIP of 0.891 over 195 innings pitched. Put him in a rotation with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Shohei Ohtani, and Roki Sasaki, and the Dodgers will have the greatest rotation ever assembled.

For Dodgers fans, this is one of the best things they can do to win now, and they will be all for it. For the rest of the MLB, pray the Tigers hold onto Skubal for one more year.
