The Los Angeles Dodgers just went back-to-back in the World Series and are now on the hunt for their third win in a row. While they basically already have a perfect team, there are a few spots where they can improve.
One of those areas is the final spot in the outfield, as they currently only have Teoscar Hernandez and Andy Pages as long-term position holders. Fansided’s Chris Landers proposes that the Dodgers fill that final spot by trading for Chicago White Sox All-Star outfielder Luis Robert Jr.
“The two-time defending world champs don't "need" anything, but the Dodgers are a bit thin in the outfield, with not much in the way of everyday players behind Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez. They also have loads of pitching depth; Tyler Glasnow has recently been floated in trade rumors, and there are also names like Emmet Sheehan and Andy Wrobleski who could find themselves on the block. If L.A. Isn't interested in going long-term with Tucker, Robert could make some sense, shifting Pages to right with Tommy Edman at second base and Hyeseong Kim potentially getting some starts against right-handers,” Landers wrote.
This past season, Robert slashed.223/.297/.364/.661 with 12 doubles, 14 home runs, and 53 RBI in 110 games played. However, playing for a team like the Dodgers could definitely warrant a bounce-back season for Robert, and playing in a place like Dodger Stadium might be perfect to do so.
Robert also only has a year left on his contract, with another club option for $20 million for 2027. If the Dodgers like what they see, they can keep him for another year, and if they don’t, they can cut him loose.
Hopefully, the Dodgers consider this move, as it could be perfect for their quest for the threepeat.
