The Los Angeles Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series.

And there's reason to expect them to make another big splash or two in free agency.

That's because this offseason, the Dodgers clear $87 million off their payroll via players who didn't play a major part in winning the Fall Classic in 2025.

"Just freed up $87 million, with Clayton Kershaw, Michael Conforto, Chris Taylor and Kirby Yates off the books," writes USA Today's Bob Nightengale. "They’ll still be aggressive as anyone and will come away at the least with a high-priced closer."

If they desire to use that $87 million in full, the Dodgers will come away with much more than just a closer.

The Japanese star slugger Munetaka Murakami has been linked to L.A.

The likes of Cody Bellinger, or Bo Bichette could appeal if the Dodgers felt like shelling out a bunch of cash to land another star.

Los Angeles doesn't really need another good starting pitcher, but the market has a handful of those available, too.

The only team that has shown 100% willingness to spend up to the Dodgers' level is the New York Mets. Somehow, the Mets missed the playoffs entirely in 2025.

The rest of MLB is playing catch-up to the Dodgers. Whether they're ruining baseball or not is a question for another day.

But are they potent, and dangerous, and rich? Yes, yes and yes.
