Dodgers predicted to sign $410M 4-time All-Star, World Series champion in free agency splash image

The Los Angeles Dodgers are just one win away from returning to the NLCS. After struggling through August and September, they’ve caught fire at the perfect time, riding a 10-game winning streak into the postseason. With momentum building, the Dodgers have officially named their closer.

“Roki Sasaki is now the primary option to pitch in the 9th inning, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says,” USA Today’s Bob Nightengale posted.

While the focus is still on October, it’s never too early to look ahead to the offseason — and it seems the Dodgers may be ready to make another major splash. This time, it could be for superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker.

“The Chicago Cubs paid a premium to acquire All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker last MLB offseason, and the front office will likely go to great lengths to avoid that being an overpay for a one-year rental. However, the highest bidder is going to win this one and that’s the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tucker will slot into right field, pushing Teoscar Hernandez into left, coming off a season where Dodgers’ left fielders ranked 17th in OPS (.703). The move will cause even more calls for an MLB salary cap, increasing the inevitability of a lockout in 2027, but the Dodgers have the money to do it and they’ll keep spending more to become MLB’s biggest dynasty since the New York Yankees (1996-2001). Kyle Tucker contract projection: 10 years, $410 million,” Sportsnaut’s Matt Johnson wrote.

If the Dodgers land Tucker for $410 million, it could be considered a steal, especially since there have been rumors of him getting a deal north of $600 million.

Adding Tucker would significantly upgrade the Dodgers’ outfield and deepen an already dangerous lineup. L.A. has made blockbuster signings an annual tradition, and this move would be no different — especially as it fuels continued debate about the lack of a salary cap in MLB.

If the Dodgers can repeat as champions this season, acquiring Tucker could be the piece that pushes them toward a potential three-peat and cements them as MLB’s next great dynasty.
