The Los Angeles Dodgers are going for the threepeat, after winning back-to-back World Series. While they are pretty much covered by All-Stars and future Hall of Famers at most positions, they could upgrade a couple of others.
One of those is left field, with an underperforming Michael Conforto having the starting job last year. Fansided’s Jake Elman believes a reunion is in order, and the Dodgers should bring back 2020 champ and 2019 NL MVP Cody Bellinger.
“Bringing Bellinger back would be the next step in the Dodgers’ attempt to break baseball, and we’re all here for it…To be clear, we’re not suggesting that Bellinger is going to crush 45 home runs, post a.900 OPS, and win the NL MVP if he returns to the Dodgers. What we are saying is that the Dodgers see an opportunity to bolster their lineup even further, and there’s no reason to think they’ll shy away from meeting whatever Bellinger demands in free agency. Nothing has stopped the Dodgers before, right?” Elman wrote.
This past season, Bellinger slashed.272/.334/.480/.813 with 25 doubles, 29 home runs, and 98 RBI in 152 games played. He would be a massive upgrade offensively over Conforto, and his Gold Glove would also be a big defensive upgrade.

With Bellinger, the Dodgers would truly be committing to the next five years as their championship window. With most of their roster in their mid-to-late 20s and their early 30s, this is the time to go all out on players in their prime.
Hopefully, the Dodgers consider a reunion and get in touch with Bellinger’s camp as soon as they can.
