The Los Angeles Dodgers are one season away from getting to the World Series for a third time in a row, and if they want to keep up their unparalleled dominance, they’ll need to keep upgrading their team. Luckily, there’s a player they could sign that would make them borderline unbeatable.

According to Fansided’s Zachary Rotman, the Dodgers could sign the top free agent on the market this year, Chicago Cubs All-Star Kyle Tucker.

“Perhaps the most likely move the Dodgers can make on this list would also be one of the scariest. Kyle Tucker, one of the best 10 or 15 players in the game, is available for the taking, and he happens to be an outfielder. Again, the Dodgers could use an outfielder. Can you imagine Tucker hitting behind Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman? I mean, how would you pitch to this team...It's probably unlikely the Dodgers would commit to another massive long-term deal, but what if Tucker were open to a short-term high-AAV arrangement? The Dodgers would be the team to beat in that scenario, and would be much tougher to beat in October if Tucker were added to the mix,” Rotman wrote.

This past season, Tucker slashed.266/.377/.464/.841 with 25 doubles, 22 home runs, and 73 RBI in 136 games played. He’s also a great defender, with a Gold Glove to his name as well. He would also slot into the outfield immediately, as he would be an instant upgrade from Michael Conforto.

With a projected market value of around 400 million dollars, the Dodgers may not be interested. However, like Rotman noted, with the market dying down and no progress made in his market, he may settle for a short-term, high AAV deal, which the Dodgers can definitely do.

For all MLB fans, hopefully he finds a long-term home. For Dodgers fans, hope and pray he doesn’t.
