The Los Angeles Dodgers just won back-to-back championships and are now vying for one of the hardest accomplishments in sports: the threepeat. If they want to win three in a row, they need to make sure their roster is unmatched.
Bleacher Report’s Adam Wells believes that a reunion with an old friend could be the move to make sure of that: five-time All-Star and two-time World Series MVP Corey Seager.
“Finding a spot for Seager with the Dodgers isn't an issue. Mookie Betts has proven to be the most versatile player in MLB, rotating between right field, second base and shortstop over the past three seasons. He has played all three positions at a high level, including leading all shortstop in defensive runs saved in 2025…If the Dodgers were to acquire Seager, they could just shift Betts over to second base to solve that issue,” Wells wrote.
This past season, Seager slashed.271/.373/.487/.860 with 19 doubles, 21 home runs, and 50 RBI in 102 games played. His power would be welcomed back with open arms and would definitely make long-time Dodger fans happy.
If the Dodgers were to get Seager, they’d have one of the best middle infields in the MLB. Betts is an amazing defender, and Seager is no slouch himself. Adding in Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy at the corners, along with Will Smith behind the dish, and the Dodgers arguably have the best infield ever assembled in quite a while.
Hopefully, the Dodgers consider trading for their old friend and start building a proposal they can send to the Texas Rangers.
