The Los Angeles Dodgers can not catch a break this season when it comes to pitcher health. Even in the final week of the MLB season, when the team's magic number to clinch the NL West is just three, there are still important arms heading to the IL.

The most recent came in the form of a Kirby Yates hamstring injury, which lands him on the IL until at least the postseason.

The Dodgers will be without Kirby Yates

The reports of Kirby Yates' IL move come from Dodgers' reporter Fabian Ardaya, and also indicate that the corresponding move will be to activate Roki Sasaki off the Injured List for the first time in several months.

It's a 10-day stint for Yates, and is retroactive until Sep 21.

Yates has dealt with multiple hamstring injuries this season, which have led to a few different IL stints, but ever since the Dodgers signed him to an extension in the offseason, Yates has not been that effective.

Yates has a 5.23 ERA in 41.1 innings this season, and his WHIP is also high at just above 1.330.

It will be a welcome sight to see what Roki Sasaki can provide for the Dodgers at this moment. The bullpen has been very ineffective and is drawing major concerns from those who follow the team. If the Dodgers can not find some stability in that bullpen, they may not last very long in the MLB playoffs.
