The Los Angeles Dodgers could upgrade their infield and lineup with Bo Bichette.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have money to spend and a dynasty to protect. On MLB Network Radio’s Power Alley, former MLB GM Jim Bowden said Bo Bichette could be a smart fit, but not at shortstop.

Bowden suggested Bichette moves to second base, citing the team’s aging infield and depth concerns. He gives them the contact bat the Dodgers would like in a smaller contract than power-hitting Kyle Tucker.

Bowden floated the idea that if the Dodgers pursued Bichette, they could slide Tommy Edman to center field. Edman filled that role during the 2025 playoffs and has experience across the diamond. The suggestion aligns with growing chatter that the Dodgers are prioritizing middle-infield upgrades this winter, especially after Max Muncy’s inconsistent 2025 and Gavin Lux’s limited ceiling.

It’s not the first time Bichette has been mentioned as a fit in Los Angeles. He’s one of the top right-handed bats available and a strong clubhouse presence — and while his defense at short has drawn mixed reviews, he remains one of the most productive middle infielders in the game.

Bichette, 27, is projected to land a multi-year deal worth upwards of $200 million. His 2025 season was solid: 21 home runs, 83 RBIs, and a.764 OPS in 151 games. The Dodgers, with nearly $90 million coming off the books, are one of the few contenders positioned to make that kind of play — though they also have needs in the bullpen and outfield.

If Los Angeles is serious about maximizing its title window while balancing aging stars like Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts, Bichette’s versatility and offensive upside could keep them ahead of the curve. But signing him would almost certainly take them out of the running for other top bats like Kyle Tucker.

For now, it’s an idea — but one rooted in logic.
