The Los Angeles Angels have been making a few trades this offseason for young players who've shown potential, but haven't reached it. Their addition of Grayson Rodriguez was noteworthy to begin the offseason, and they made another such deal recently.
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Angels, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Cincinnati Reds made a three-team trade that sent outfielder Josh Lowe to the Angels.
But this trade, made late Thursday night, was completely buried by the other Los Angeles team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, signing Kyle Tucker. Despite this move being a savvy one for the Angels, it went under the radar thanks to the Dodgers.
Angels' 3-team trade went quietly as Dodgers signed Tucker
At 6:51 p.m. Western Time, the Passan announced the Dodgers had signed Tucker to a free-agent contract. It's a massive move, and instantly drew the attention of the MLB and professional sports world.
Then, just two minutes later at 6:53 p.m., Passan announced the Angels trade with the Rays and Reds, which landed Lowe with the Angels, Gavin Lux and Chris Clark with the Rays, and Brock Burke with the Reds.
As the Major League Baseball world was losing its mind over the Dodgers landing yet another top free agent, the Angels' move was completely forgotten.

But it's not a move that should've gone so under the radar. Lowe is a nice pickup for the Angels and will factor into the outfield over the next few seasons, as he's under club control through 2028.
The left-handed hitting 27-year-old outfielder is a nice addition for the Angels, but it went completely under the radar thanks to the other Los Angeles team making their own lefty-hitting outfield addition.
Lowe is a fun addition for the Angels, and if he can get back to the potential he showed in 2023, then this trade pickup might prove to be very fruitful.
While it would be difficult, the Angels are hoping their lefty-hitting outfield addition will be the best one made on Thursday night.
