The Houston Astros are coming off a great June, where they had the best record in baseball. One of the factors behind such a dominant June was due to reliever Josh Hader's dominance on the mound.
Major League Baseball acknowledged Hader's great June, announcing that the Astros reliever was the American League Reliever of the Month.

Hader was elite in his 14 appearances in June. He went a perfect nine-for-nine in save opportunities, and also notched four wins, both the best among all relievers for June. His 1.98 ERA was also great, and he also had an impressive 22-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
The Astros' closer is in the middle of his best season in Houston. He has an MLB-leading 24 saves through the first half of the season, and has a 5-1 record to go along with his closing ability.

While 2024 in Houston was a disappointment, as he had a 3.80 ERA and blew four saves, 2025 is off to a great start.
In his 37 appearances this season, Hader has a 1.86 ERA, 59 strikeouts, and only seven walks. He has one of the best WHIPs in baseball at 0.724 and is likely on his way to his sixth All-Star game.
His strong season led to an incredible June, and Hader was awarded by MLB for his efforts in the middle of the season.
Houston also saw Hunter Brown win the AL Pitcher of the Month Award for June. They not only had the best reliever, but the best starter in the AL over June. Their 19-7 record in June was achieved thanks to the incredible performances of Brown and Hader.
