It ended up being an unfortunate season for the Houston Astros and their fan base. Injuries played a big part in the team's demise this season, resulting in them missing the postseason for the first time since the 2016 season.

The team will now look toward the future with the same leadership. Both GM Dana Brown and manager Joe Espada will be returning next season.

They will certainly be in the hot seat in 2026 and will do their best to make up for the mishaps this year. Unfortunately for them, they will have their work cut out for them going into the winter.

Insider questions how the Astros will solve their infield logjam

The Astros have a bit of a problem in the infield. They have a surplus of infielders like Carlos Correa, Isaac Paredes, Jeremy Pena, Ramon Urias, and Mauricio Dubon.

Houston needs to figure out what they are going to do with them. MLB.com's Brian McTaggart talks about this dilemma and how Houston could look at solving it.

"A healthy roster leaves the Astros with too many infielders, including two third basemen in Paredes and Correa. The Astros could move Urias, Paredes or utility man Mauricio Dubon to open a spot in exchange for pitching, or – if they don't mind the financial price – trade Christian Walker and put Paredes at first."

McTaggart suggests a trade here in exchange for some pitching. This is another area the team will need to address during the offseason, with Framber Valdez heading to free agency.
