Just when the Houston Astros looked like they were going to get players back from the injured list, more end up back on it.

Houston was fortunate to get back multiple players for the IL recently. Players like Yordan Alvarez, Lance McCullers Jr., and even Luis Garcia have returned to the majors following injury stents.

Well, just as things are looking right, bad news comes out of nowhere. This time it's for starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti.

Espada says it will be 'tough' for Spencer Arrighetti to return in regular season

Spencer Arrighetti, 25, had just returned from a fractured thumb in his throwing hand on Aug. 6, but after discovering elbow inflammation in a bullpen session on Wednesday, it seems that he won't be making it back to the mound anytime soon.

Astros manager Joe Espada spoke on Arrighetti's injury, saying the starter will most likely not be returning this regular season.

"The Astros are still awaiting MRI results for Spencer Arrighetti, but Joe Espada acknowledged it will be 'tough for him to get back' for the remainder of the regular season," Astros writer Chandler Rome said.

Arrighetti was just starting to find his rhythm again. In his most recent outing on Aug. 39, he went 6.1 innings, allowing one hit, one earned run, and five walks while striking out eight in a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. He also reached a season-high 100 pitch count in the start.

A more in-depth timeline for Arrighetti will be released once his results from the MRI come back, but from what's being said, the injury doesn't look promising.
