The Detroit Tigers were able to steal Game 1 of the ALWC over the Cleveland Guardians.
They will look to earn back-to-back wins and advance to the ALDS to take on the Seattle Mariners.
Before the start of Game 2 against the Guardians, the Tigers received fortunate news on an important piece in their lineup.
Colt Keith targets a return from IL in the ALDS
Just over a week before the Detroit Tigers began their World Series pursuit in the postseason, utility infielder Colt Keith landed on the 10-day injured list after suffering discovering inflammation in his rib cage.
The Tigers announced that Keith would miss the Wild Card series against the Cleveland Guardians, but a more recent update by the Detroit Free Press' Evan Petzold suggested that a return for the ALDS could be in line for the 24-year-old.

Of course, the Tigers still need to beat the Guardians to advance in the postseason. If they can do so, Colt Keith could be implemented back into the lineup moving forward.
Through 137 games before sustaining the setback, Keith finished the regular season with a .256 batting average, .333 on-base percentage, .413 slugging percentage, and a .746 OPS while hitting 13 home runs and 45 RBI.
