The Cleveland Guardians are known for making the most of their pitching.
That's surely their plan with their newest signing, who cost them just $900,000 to secure an MLB contract agreement.
The new guy is Connor Brogdon, a 30-year old right-handed relief pitcher.
The Athletic's Zack Meisel reported the deal on Wednesday.

Brogdon pitched 47 innings for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2025 with a 5.55 ERA.
He did have a league-average strikeout rate, and the Guardians have a way of improving upon such numbers.
Brogdon allowed 11 home runs in his 47 innings, both way higher a rate than he's given up in the past but also a concerning number.
His fastball averaged 95.5 miles per hour.

Brogdon was originally a 10th-round pick by the Phillies in the 2017 MLB Draft out of Lewis-Clark State College in Idaho.
He made his MLB debut with nine games and a 3.97 ERA in 2020 with the Phillies.
He ended up pitching in parts of five seasons with the Phillies with a 3.88 ERA.
Brogdon then allowed two runs in a single inning with the Dodgers in 2024.
He joined the Angels for 2025 and put up the numbers mentioned above.
Now, he'll go to the impressive pitching factory that is Cleveland and hope to get his career back moving in the right direction.
