In the first start of his Major League Baseball career, Chase Burns looked like the future ace the Cincinnati Reds hope he can be.

The second did not go the same.

Burns, who struck out five of the first six batters he faced last week, allowed five of the first six batters he faced against the Boston Red Sox Monday night to cross home plate.

All in all, Burns recorded just one official out, allowing five hits with five earned runs. He threw only 33 pitches, facing nine batters before the Reds pulled him.

The 22-year-old who was born in Napoli, Italy had a lot more success vs. the New York Yankees last Tuesday night. He went five innings, striking out eight in all while allowing six hits and three earned runs.

Boston, though, attacked Burns inside historic Fenway Park early. A walk followed by an error on a fielder's choice that kept both hitters alive on the bases.

From there, Abraham Toro drove in the first round before Carlos Narvaez doubled to center to make it 2-0. Trevor Story took Burns deep for a three-run blast with both Marcelo Mayer and Ceddanne Rafaela scoring before Brent Suter relieved the youngster.
