The Chicago White Sox surprised the MLB with their busy offseason, most notably when they signed Munetaka Murakami and traded away Luis Robert Jr. However, by trading Robert, they need to find a bat to replace him in 2026.

Fansided’s Christopher Kline predicts the White Sox will find their bat in a contact-expert, that being Luis Arráez. Arráez is a three-time All-Star and three-time batting champ, so getting him could definitely boost Chicago’s offense.

“The Chicago White Sox cleared out $20 million in cap space with the Luis Robert Jr. Trade. Are the White Sox traditionally a team to spend all available money in aggressive pursuit of winning? No, but GM Chris Getz said he plans to reallocate those resources, and Chicago's signing of Munetaka Murakami does signal at least some desire to start building out the depth chart. Luis Arráez can toggle between first base, second base and DH as needed. While he fits into a somewhat arcane archetype, Arráez is a three-time All-Star and three-time batting champ. He's a contact-hitting savant who can generate important hits in the middle of the lineup. This would give the White Sox a lot of left-handed bats, but Arráez can produce against lefties and righties alike,” Kline wrote.

This past season, Arráez slashed.292/.327/.392/.719 with 30 doubles, eight home runs, and 61 RBI in 154 games played. He’s a great contact hitter, and can pretty much guarantee a runner on the bases at least once a game.

He’s also projected to receive a five-year, $70 million deal. While the White Sox could afford that, with his market not really being talked about, they could get him for less.

Hopefully, the White Sox decide they want to contend, and get to work on making a deal with Arráez’s camp.
