The Chicago White Sox have signed a veteran right-hander who has not pitched in Major League Baseball since 2023. The deal is a minor league contract, but 32-year-old Noah Syndergaard is ready to make his mark with the organization.
Syndergaard made his MLB debut with the Mets in 2015 and remained with the team through 2019. After missing the 2020 season, he returned to the Mets in 2021 before bouncing around to four teams over the next two seasons.

His final appearance came with the Cleveland Guardians in August 2023. He was designated for assignment and released a few days later. During his brief stint with Cleveland, Syndergaard made five appearances and recorded a 4.94 ERA.
Syndergaard's best seasons came with the Mets. In 2016, he made 31 starts and won 14 games, a career high. He posted a 2.60 ERA and struck out 218 batters over 183.2 innings.

He also made 32 starts in 2019, going 10-8 with a 4.28 ERA. He once again topped 200 strikeouts, finishing with 202 over 197.2 innings.
For the White Sox, who are going nowhere fast, they’re hoping he can get back on track and either contribute at the big-league level or become a potential trade chip down the road.
