The last few seasons have not been kind to the Chicago White Sox and their fan base. They have missed the postseason for the last four seasons and have struggled to put together a winning record.

The South Siders finished with a 60-102 record this past season, but something was different. Some exciting players were starting to make a name for themselves, like Colson Montgomery.

With some excitement brewing, the front office has been kept plenty busy this offseason. They have already made multiple moves to help fill holes and potentially put together a better product on the field for the 2026 season.

The White Sox were able to get deals done with both Anthony Kay and Sean Newcomb earlier during the offseason. Kay will compete for a starting spot while Newcomb will help bolster the bullpen.

The club's biggest signing came recently when they struck a two-year, $34 million deal to acquire Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami. He will provide much-needed power and will help the club defensively at first or third base.

Despite such a big signing, the White Sox could still add more. The Athletic's Will Sammon and Ken Rosenthal reveal the club is interested in former Gold Glove Award winner Griffin Canning.

"In the market for another pitcher on a one-year deal, the White Sox expressed interest in late December for right-hander Griffin Canning."

Canning could be a low-risk, high-reward signing. He would not cost the team much money or be much of a commitment. He could be signed on a one-year deal, making him a great suitor for the White Sox.

However, other teams are looking to make a gamble on a starting pitcher. The Texas Rangers and the San Diego Padres could be viewed as potential suitors.
